The legibility of typewritten material

Abstract
The Michigan Speed of Reading Tests I and II were administered to 1950 college students. Results indicate no reliable differences in accuracy of reading 7, 10, 12 and 14 point type. "There was an unmeasured tendency for the smaller sizes to be held a little closer to the eyes." There was a tendency toward more rapid reading of the leaded samples than of the solid. This was more noticeable in the longer line than in the shorter line. An 80 mm. line seemed to be read faster than a 176 mm. line. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2025 APA, all rights reserved)
