Abstract

A test was devised to determine vocational interests. First a "choice of operations" was required: L? D was written after each occupation and the subject was asked to put a circle around L if he liked that kind of work, a circle around D if he disliked it, and a circle around? if he had not decided. His likes and dislikes for "fat men," "chinless people," "golf," "hunting," etc., were determined by asking for a circle to be drawn around one of the following symbols: Lp L? D Dp Two groups may be compared by making tables showing the frequencies with which each symbol in the questionnaires is encircled. A statistical treatment of the symbols can be made.
