A non-language group intelligence test
Journal of Applied Psychology · 1918 · Volume 3 · Issue 3
Abstract
Attempts to develop a set of six non-verbal intelligence tests which could be used with illiterates, the deaf and non-English-speaking individuals. The tests comprised the Imitation Test, the Easy Learning Test, the Hard Learning Test, the Drawing Completion Test, the Reversed Drawing Test, and the Picture Reconstruction Test. Describes the procedures for administration and scoring of the tests, and gives the standards and time limits for each. Correlations between each test and the total score were positive and fairly high. Tentative norms have been arrived at for children between the ages seven and 13 yrs, and for university students. The tests were found useful in mental survey work particularly in communities where there was a large foreign or illiterate element. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2023 APA, all rights reserved)
