Who knows about aviation?

Abstract
If we should ask this question of "the man on the street," quite probably he would say that he knew something about flying and flyers. In an effort to discover whether such claims were just, we have earned out a short experiment involving adults, with one group of 83 students in the State Teachers College of San Diego representing the non-aviation "wing," and 45 students in two ground schools in San Diego, the technically trained group.
