Abstract

An analysis of data based on the yearbooks (1920-1933) of the American Psychological Association shows "that in general the fate of psychologists follows economic fluctuations; in particular does the number of promotions reflect the ebb and flow of prosperity." The relative number of resignations appears larger than the number of promotions. A list of 17 references is appended which may be useful to those seeking information regarding vocational opportunities in psychology. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2025 APA, all rights reserved)
