Recall and recognition for faces and names
Journal of Applied Psychology · 1933 · Volume 18 · Issue 6
Abstract
Two pages of faces and names from the Moss Social Intelligence Test were used to measure recall and recognition value for names and faces. Results based on 468 college students and faculty seem to show that recognition gives a much higher accuracy than recall for both names and faces. Names are somewhat easier to recognize than faces, and although the results for recall show the same trend they appear to be less distinct.
