Journal of Applied Psychology · 1916 · Volume 1 · Issue 2
Abstract
Obituary of Hugo Munsterberg (1863-1916). His important contributions in the field of psychology were the founding of the American Institute in Berlin, the two-world theory and the theory of the will, in which he reduces the will to an aggregate of sensations and muscular tension. His interest in psychological theory was replaced by applied psychology. He wrote four books delineating the possibility of making psychology effective in the administration of justice, healing of the sick, education and industrial life. His last work was Psychotechnik where he gave a unified presentation of the various possibilities of applied psychology. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2016 APA, all rights reserved)
