Abstract
Examines the combination of traits necessary for success in the military service. 100 candidates and reserve officers from a training camp were given a list of 14 'qualities for rating of executive ability' to be ranked according to desirability. Results showed that (1) candidates and the officers differed in their ranking of the traits (2) no correlation was found between those who ranked the qualities similar to the objective order and those who received commissions (3) the judgments of associates at the camp were similar to the selection made by the authorities and (4) Woodworth-Wells Hard Direction Test was not correlated with abilities which led man to receive commission.
