Journal of Applied Psychology · 1917 · Volume 2 · Issue 1
Abstract
Examines the superiority of an expert marksman over the marksmen of average or inferior ability. 10 Ss acted as controls. The tests were concerned with vision, steadiness of motor and muscular control, accuracy and precision of movement. Demonstrated that the expert's vision was not exceptional. The three tasks when considered together, showed that the expert was superior in simple steadiness of motor control and slightly superior to the average in accuracy and precision of arm movement. In the final test, the expert showed average ability and some superiority in bodily movements. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2016 APA, all rights reserved)
