Abstract
Out of 400 children who were tested on the Yerkes-Bridges scale, a normal group of 15 Ss (mental and chronological age - 8.5 to 9.5 yrs) and an abnormal group of 19 Ss (mental age - 8.5 to 9.5 yrs; chronological age - 8 to 15 yrs) were selected. A series of six group tests and four individual tests were given to the Ss, which included mental ability, maturity and ambiguous tests. The normal group was superior to the abnormal in some of the tests, with the difference being the greatest in the Opposite Test, memory tests, and the Hand Test. The abilities assessed by these tests might be the most essential for formal school work. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2016 APA, all rights reserved)
