Abstract

An analysis of scores of 147 men and women who were given the Thurstone Psychological Examination Test IV in 1928 shows that "the higher the intelligence of an individual, the less likely is he to follow a vocation for which he is trained." This trend is more pronounced with women than with men. The majority of women scored above the median in intelligence, while the majority of men scored below the median.
