Abstract
Judgments on sets of photographs of teachers by 148 persons (superintendents, secretaries of school boards and placement bureaus) show agreement when taken as a whole, but wide divergence between individual judges, which in no case provides an evaluation with any factual basis other than a general idea of the teacher's appearance.
