Abstract

This article expands on the Instructions to Authors that are routinely published in each issue, in order to address some of the consistently problematic issues that the editor of the Journal of Applied Psychology has seen in manuscripts and reviewer comments. The editor addresses the issues of significance of contribution, technical adequacy, article appropriateness, clarity of presentation, and the use of short notes. He suggests that authors should not be afraid to stick to their guns if they disagree with a reviewer, the disagreement might be reduced by clarifying one's point through revision.
