Abstract

This editorial provides an introduction to the special section entitled "From psychologists in organizations" in the Journal of Applied Psychology . The author begins by providing an overview of the changes in publication of JAP during his six-year term as editor. He then goes on to introduce the eight articles in this section, which are from regular submissions or in response to invitations sent to more than 100 industrial and organizational psychologists. The articles demonstrate well the absence of artificial boundaries on the scope of the field and an interest in the psychological problems of the employers, be they clinical, human factors, or malpractice. The author concludes by expressing his appreciation for the reviewers of manuscripts for this section as well as the contributions of those authors whose work was not included.
