Abstract
SUMMARY A table of the cumulative binomial distribution is used to provide confidence limits for the population median based on samples of size n=3(1) 150 from any continuous univariate distribution. The confidence interval covers the median with a probability of at least 1–2α, where 1–2α=0.70, 0.80, 0.90, 0.95, 0.98 and 0.99. The exact probability of coverage is given in each case.
