A test for equality of variances

Abstract

SUMMARY A test for homogeneity of variances in normal and nonnormal populationsis considered. This is based on power transformations of the estimates of variance. The test is compared with Bartlett's and Leh mann's tests, which employ logarithmic transformations of the estimates.
