On E-optimal block designs

Abstract

This paper studies the E -optimality of block designs within various classes of connected designs having varying replications and unequal block sizes. Several sufficient conditions are obtained for designs to be E -optimal within the classes considered. Some methods of constructing E -optimal designs which satisfy the sufficient conditions are given.
