An elimination procedure for unequal probability sampling without replacement
Biometrika · 1996 · Volume 83 · Issue 1
Abstract
An exact without replacement sampling procedure with fixed sample size and unequal inclusion probabilities is presented. The proposed method eliminates a unit of the population at each of the N – n steps of the algorithm in order finally to retain n units. A simple expression is given for the joint inclusion probabilities.
