Abstract
This is a critique of the usual techniques used to gauge the effectiveness of TV advertising. Also, a new TV-testing method is proposed, aimed at providing more valid results. A controlled experiment, conducted in a realistic setting, with nonexposure to television controlled, forms the basis of this method.
