Abstract

Mobile consumers are a relatively neglected market segment. This article, reporting on a comprehensive study of geographically mobile consumers, focuses on the following questions: (1) What are the socioeconomic and life cycle characteristics of the mobile market? (2) How do mobiles rebuild broken shopping patterns following a long-distance move? (3) Does the mobile segment exhibit capacity to support special marketing programs?
