Second Annual Meeting of the Society, Chicago, Illinois, May 21–22, 1954

Abstract

The Second Annual Meeting of the Society, held at the Edgewater Beach Hotel, was devoted largely to the presentation of papers on the applications of operations research to business and industry; 124 non-members and 156 members were registered. Mr. M. L. Hurni of the General Electric Company gave an invited address entitled “The Basic Processes of Operations Research and Their Relation to Management.” Dr. R. F. Rinehart presented the retiring presidential address at the banquet. Both Mr. Hurni's and Dr. Rinehart's addresses appear earlier in this issue of the Journal.
