Abstract
The note “A Final Word,” by W. W. Leontief, in the issue of this Journal for August, 1934, contains the following serious misprints. Page 758, line 19: the words “impossible to make …” should read, “possible to have r 1 = r 2 and l 1 = l 2 (p. 753 above).” Page 759, line 1: the words “The other two are fulfilled automatically in the few special cases” should read, “The other two are fulfilled automatically except in the few special cases.” In the review of Professor Arthur F. Burns' book on Production Trends in the United States since 1870, in the issue of this Journal for August 1934, authorship of the article on “The Process of Industrial Concentration” (also in this Journal, February 1933) is erroneously ascribed to Arthur F. Burns, and not, as it should have been, to Arthur Robert Burns. In the article by Donald H. Wallace upon railway rate policy which appeared in the preceding number of this Journal a draftsman's error in preparing Figure 3 on page 603 resulted in misrepresentation both of the relations between the several average cost curves and the relations between these curves and the corresponding marginal cost curves. While discontinuity was shown in the long run marginal cost curve, it did not appear in the long run average cost curve. The figure should have appeared as printed below.
