Abstract

Some aspects of the role-taking model proposed by Kahn, et al., (1964) are examined; role conflict is significantly related to job satisfaction and job threat and anxiety, but not to an effectiveness measure. Under different levels of organization stress, influence is not differentially related to the responses of job satisfaction, job threat, and anxiety. There is a slight relationship between influence and effectiveness in low stress situations, but not under high stress.
