Abstract

The article presents a comment on “Developing a Comprehensive Model of Motivation and Performance,” by Kae H. Chung which appeared in the March 1968 issue of “The Academy of Management Journal.” The author takes issue with Dr. Chung's methodology, as the author finds that Chung limited himself to univariate statistics for analysis. The article breaks down the methodology that Chung used and offers suggestions as to what worked and what did not. The author applauds Chung for building a multivariate model of motivation and performance and suggests a possible formulation for analysis of Performance, Ability, and Needs.
