Abstract
The article discusses the relationship between early Chinese ideas and organizational theories. The author examines the idea of human nature in organizational theory and management theory, and that human nature is based largely on values and morals. Likewise, Confucius believed that society is a result of purposeful interactions between its individual members, and stressed the well being of those members as well as the good nature of humans. Mencius, a follower of Confucius' grandson, affirmed the innate good nature of humans. The author also examines the teachings of Han Yu and Hsun Tzu.
