Abstract

The article discusses research on the formation of informal groups based on attraction in response to the article “Interpersonal Attraction as a Basis of Informal Organization,” featured in a previous issue. According to the author, the original article failed to mention some variables of attraction which may influence the formation of informal groups. One of the variables includes the need complementary basis on which research suggests marital relationships are primarily based. Another variable describes attraction based on relations that limit or reduce stress and anxiety. Some other variables include personality similarity, reciprocal liking, and demographic similarities.
