Abstract
The article comments on the authors' original article “EDP Effects on Clerical Workers,” in the December 1971 issue. The authors' wish to clarify statements made in the original article which claim that when clerical workers in large banks, public utilities, and insurance firms are transferred as a result of computer installations, employees may experience decreased or no improvement in job satisfaction. The authors clarify that if the employer pays for the cost of retraining and pays the employees hourly wage, the employee will experience no decrease in job satisfaction.
