Abstract

The article discusses the results of a study pertaining to an evaluation of a self-paced leadership training program called Leader Match. The method of training was based on the contingency model of leadership effectiveness and focused mainly on task performance. The training program produced better results in terms of overall task performance. The difference in personnel performance ratings was significant between those who participated in the Leader Match program and those who didn't. The study indicates that the training program increased the subject's motivation to perform better.
