Manuscript Characteristics Which Influence Acceptance for Management and Social Science Journals

Abstract

Editors and advisory board members of 19 leading management and social science journals, including The Academy of Management Journal, were administered a 50 item questionnaire designed to obtain information about some common reasons for manuscript acceptance and rejection. Several manuscript characteristics were found to be important determinants of reviewer acceptance.
