Abstract
A regression analysis was used to estimate the importance of different situational factors in predicting the leadership behavior of head nurses in a hospital organization. Turnover among staff members, the leadership behavior of supervisor nurses and administrative climate variables explained significant portions of variance in the measures of the head nurse's consideration and initiating structure behavior.
