Academy of Management Journal · 1978 · Volume 21 · Issue 3
Abstract
The article examines the impact of a formal managerial motivation training program on campus student leaders. It analyzes the results of a special managerial motivation development training course taught at Georgia State University in Atlanta during the spring quarter of 1975. The purpose of the training was to adapt Miner's material and to teach it to college student leaders to utilize their leadership positions in student organizations as a laboratory for the classroom experiences. The study attempts to measure the effect of the training on the motive to manage the training subjects.
