Abstract

This paper reports a five-year longitudinal study of the management selection and allocation process in a specific, industrial R&D laboratory. Predictors included intelligence measures, interest patterns, ratings by superiors and leaderless group behavioral indices. Correlational and other data are discussed in relation to dual management structures in technical organizations.
