Abstract
The article discusses research pertaining to the moderating influences of locus of control on the job performance–job satisfaction relationship. Locus of control is a basic personality dimension characterized by the generalized tendency to attribute cause or control of events to internal or external causes. The study was conducted at a medium-sized industrial company employing almost 1,300 workers. Job satisfaction was measured using the Job Description Index. The study indicates that there is a strong relationship between job performance and job satisfaction among those with internal orientations.
