Abstract
The article discusses a study pertaining to the validity of the tension discharge rate scale (TDR) for measuring employee health status. The scale utilizes a 7-point response format and is designed to discriminate among a number of health, personality, and life factors. The TDR scale was compared with other employee health status measurement techniques. Experts say the TDR results were tentative and incomplete. They explain that it is unclear what TDR measures. The relationship between job stress and TDR scores was unable to be determined.
