Abstract

The article focuses on the “revise and resubmit” phase of peer review. The author was among three co-authors who wrote “Taking Empowerment to the Next Level: A Multiple-Level Model of Empowerment, Performance, and Satisfaction,” which they submitted for publication in “Academy of Management Journal.” He discusses his emotional reaction to reviewer comments, and observes that much of the work of submitting an article for publication occurs in the editing stage. The difficulty of responding to reviewers with whom an author disagrees is discussed, and a list of suggestions for revising a research paper is presented.
