Academy of Management Review · 1977 · Volume 2 · Issue 2
Abstract
In this article the author examines the financial aspects of labor turnover, which he notes, has been linked with job dissatisfaction in previous research. In this paper the author attempts to outline how for the organizational decision-maker how to allocate resources in establishing turnover strategies. One of the most popular techniques for combating turnover include conducting employee surveys in order to locate areas of dissatisfaction and then develop strategies to fight the problem. He notes that certain times locating problems can be difficult, especially in instances where the problem is more related to the individual than to the organization, such as a person experiencing failure due a lack of qualification.
