Abstract

The article presents a response to comments made by authors L. K. Treviño, G. R. Weaver and D. A. Gioia on the article “Convergent Stakeholder Theory,” by T. M. Jones and A. C. Wicks. Their first point of disagreement comes from Treviño and Weaver's argument that stakeholder theory is not viable because it is not descriptively plausible. Another point of contention comes from an assumption made by Gioia that came as a result of an incorrect reading of the initial article, which led Gioia to believe that stakeholder theory believes all stakeholders to be treated equally.
